Hi guys,

Here’s a video with a status update on the legislative mental-health consumer advocacy work that I’m doing for anyone that’s interested.  I talk about my frustrations with what US Representative Timothy Murphy is doing weekly in the United States House of Representatives, promoting misunderstanding about mental illness and thereby amplifying the discrimination against us.  It’s been very frustrating :0(  But on the bright side, it highlights the need to educate on mental illness generally within this American society–which is exciting, because at least for that, I am qualified.  So I’m trying to keep that in mind as I go along on over here…

Anyways, here’s the video:

Also, I wanted to share my first attempt at working a compromise on Ohio’s mental-health legislation currently pending in Ohio’s Senate Civil Justice Committee.  This was my first attempt:  Ohio’s Alternative AOT Law.Draft1.Jan.7.2014.

I talk about it a little bit in the video–basically, it was a lit-tle too “far out there”, but that’s okay.  I was happy to have people who would give me honest feedback, and to tell me to keep writing.  I just have to work on filling all the steps in between “out there” and right here.  It’s a long way to go…but I think we can make it.  It’s not going to be easy…but then again, what’s worthwhile never is.

And so there you have it!  I’ve just brightened myself up this evening ;0)  Hope yours is going well…be back with more very soon.

Please note in PS — Calling names is not nice, productive or acceptable.  My apologies to US Rep. Murphy for the comment on his “idiocy” in my video…
